Welcome
Mark is widely regarded by scholars as the earliest of the four canonical Gospels. For the first Christians, this was a story that shaped their understanding of who Jesus really is. In it the church encountered a Jesus who acted with the authority and compassion of God Himself. When they looked at Jesus, they were looking at God.
Mark moves quickly: from forgiveness to healing, from storms to miracles, from confrontation to compassion. In every scene, Jesus does what only God can do. Most scholars think Matthew and Luke drew upon Mark. John tells the story of Jesus in a markedly different voice. All four make explicit what Mark shows through action: God has come near.
This study is an invitation to see Jesus the way the first followers did. Clearly, honestly, and up close. Walking through Mark, you’ll find a God who meets us in our wounds, confronts what holds us back, speaks peace into fear, opens our eyes, carries us through uncertainty, and calls us into a life shaped by His Kingdom.
You don’t need to come with all the answers. You just need to come willing to look.
